Our Vision and Mission

The first and the foremost mission of this charitable society is to strive for the uplift of the backward section of Chavara block – The people who are suffering from diseases, Poverty and unemployment.

1)      To achieve this goal, the society is planning to introduce various projects involving economic uplift, social welfare, and medical aid and rehabilitation activities.

For this purpose, the society will, first of all identify people suffering from various fatal diseases such as Cancer, Kidney problems, Heart diseases, Tuberculosis and Aids.

Identify families which are in in dire need of basic necessities, and economic help for treatment and even for lively food.

To help those hapless people, the following measures have to be adopted:

a)      Providing Palliative Care

b)      Making arrangements for proper treatment and providing the medicines

c)      Finding sponsors for meeting the education expenses of the poor

d)      Providing proper shelter for the homeless, with water supply and electricity

e)      Making arrangements for proper food and cloths and helping in rehabilitation activities.

2)      Cancer seems to be spreading in Chavara, A research center has to be established to conduct proper studies for finding out the various factors that caused this dreadful disease, and also to implement effective measures for the prevention and spreading of cancer.

Awareness programs about this disease have to be conducted and preventive measures have to be taken.

3)      Making citizens aware of their duties, their rights and of justice. The society will react strongly against those who violate the rights of citizens and to ensure legal protection to the oppressed.

4)      The society shall conduct a health survey to enumerate the number of people who suffer from fatal diseases, and to provide urgent medical aid.

5)      The society shall establish a voluntary palliative care unit and make its service available to all the afflicted persons.

6)      Medical camps will be organized and patients who need further treatment shall be referred to the hospital.

7)      As the part of the activities of the palliative care unit, training in Home Nursing shall be given to the volunteers to provide them with job opportunities.

8)      A rapid action health squad shall be organized to provide urgent and immediate medical aid during emergencies.

9)      The importance of blood donations and of donating of eye shall be propagated among the public and two separate battalion shall be formed for the purpose.

10)  We shall act as a nodal agency and co operate with all the activities in connection with the raising of the general standard of health of the Indians.

11)  We shall promote all the activities of the health department of our state and organize voluntary activities, Awareness programs and be a nodal agency.

12)  We shall also be a nodal agency to help in all the activities of R.C.C, Thiruvanandapuram, Cancer Care Centre and the institute of palliative medicine.

13)  A Disaster Management Squad shall be organized and training shall be given to the members to cope with the various disasters such as calamities in the coastal area, accidents and other natural calamities.

14)  Social rehabilitation projects for the old people “Pakal veedu” (Day Care Homes) should be established utilize the talents of the inmates of day care home to engage in creative activities like agriculture, sales, and other activities.

15)  Programmes to promote patriotism fraternity and equality among members should be organized.

16)  Qualities like Veracity, Self sufficiency and natural help among members shall be encouraged.

17)  Conduct a survey on the under developed areas and evaluate the social and economic problems of the people and adopt suitable schemes for their development.

18)  To improve the intellectual and technical knowledge of the weaker section, evaluate and implement suitable schemes and projects.

19)  For the welfare of the whole village, engage in social service activities untidily and establish “Home For Aged” to rehabilitate old men and women and look after them with love and care.

20)  Enlighten the citizens for leading a better life; Promote personal hygiene, encourage environmental protection; and prevent pollution of air, water and atmosphere. Journalism and periodicals may be published for this purpose.

21)  To instill the qualities of natural integration and religious harmony among the people, suitable schemes should be used.

22)  To help the public who need legal help in general and also to help the members of this society in particular, to solve their problems which they may have to face, a panel of legal advisors shall be set up.

23)  Seminars, Study Classes and discussions will be conducted among members to be well informed of the various laws and ordinances of the state as well as the central government. Study classes led by veterans on legal matters shall be arranged.

24)  Organize propaganda against alcoholism and the usage of narcotic drugs , Anti addiction activities can be conducted with the assistance of governmental institutions, rehabilitation processes and re-addiction centers could be established.

25)  Establish Hospitals and Ayurvedic and Naturopathy clinics, and ensure free treatment for the poor.

26)  Implement the projects of cultivating medicinal plants, Ayurvedic herbarium, horticulture setup aquariums and assist in traditional agriculture. The society could guide the formers to unite together and carry out cultivation in barren lands. Loans shall be arranged for them without charging interest.

27)  To provide monetary help to the economically backward people, through small saving schemes and mutual funds, a common fund has to be collected.

28)  In memory of renowned personalities, commence endowments schemes, and utilize this fund to provide scholarships to the meritorious students from the weaker section of the locality as well as to those of society members.

29)  Poor homes, child care centers and home for the aged shall be established.

30)  Public Movements and ancient buildings and relies have to be protected. Cultivation should be encouraged and cultural centre that proclaims our cultural heritage has to be established.

31)  To help the poor and deserving students, a fund has to be raised by collecting donations from the willing and generous sponsors.

32)  To inform the public about the above said aims and targets of the society, periodicals and journals may be published.

33)  For the smooth functioning of the society and to achieve into goals, adequate funds and materials have to be obtained. The rules and bye laws have to be supplemented.

34)  To ensure the safety and security of the members and their family, accident insurance and medical insurance as well as procurement of educational loans, matrimonial aid scheme etc have to be implemented.

35)  Even though the activities of their charitable society includes only five village panchayats. Chavara South, Neendakara, Chavara, Thevalakkara and Panmana, The benefits of the welfare schemes can be made available to people staying outside the boundary also.
